Digital Connections
Yesterday I was invited to go have lunch at Aziza’s house in Puerto Sagunto, this small town one hour by bus from Valencia. She is the mother of the sweetest 6 year old Alula. OF COURSE I said yes! Although I had never met her, it was one more story and new friends for my collection 🙂
After I created the free Couchsurfing events (“Free Digital Coaching” and “Free English Classes”) here in Valencia I got an interesting message from Aziza.  She told me she was a single mom who loves traveling the world with her daughter Alula. She is from London, now lives with her daughter here in Spain, where she teaches at local schools every now and then.
When she read in my profile that I was a Digital Business Coach and had an Online English School she wanted to know more about it, maybe work together. Her daughter goes to school all day and she is looking for ways to work digitally, with all the freedom that comes with it.
When I got there, she explained to me that through a program called “Workaway“, when she was still in London,  she met a lady from Puerto Sagunto who has a 7 year old daughter and needed someone to babysit her daughter from 6 to 9am and walk her to school. So that’s how Aziza came to Spain. Now they share a home, she pays her share of the rent by babysitting for the 7 year old and her 6 year old now speaks Spanish and Valenciano (local dialect from Catalunya). Both girls get along super well and go to the same school, which is better than the school she used to go to in London, and free.
So many interesting options for brave single moms out there who have the same initiative and curiosity as Aziza.
Thank you Aziza and Alula for inspiring me! Hope we get to work together! And there are still people who question the value of “digital interactions”…
